Derek Schriver, CPA
Derek Schriver, CPA is a founding partner of Schriver Carmona with extensive experience in public accounting. Derek advises business owners on improving operational efficiencies, develops and implements tax planning strategies to minimize federal income tax liabilities, represents taxpayers before federal and state taxing authorities, and conducts in-depth research on complex tax laws to ensure full compliance with federal and state reporting requirements.
Derek holds Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Accounting from The University of Texas at San Antonio and is a licensed Certified Public Accountant. He serves as an active board member of the Accounting Advisory Board at UTSA and volunteers as a mentor to accounting students at the university.
Outside the office, Derek enjoys listening to podcasts and audio books, playing slow-pitch softball, and spending time with his wife and three children.
Christopher M. Carmona, CPA
Chris Carmona, CPA is a founding partner of Schriver Carmona and has extensive experience in public accounting. Chris’ experience includes leading and supervising the audits of nonprofit entities, including nonprofits requiring single audits as specified in the Uniform Guidance, governmental entities, employee benefit plans, and commercial entities.
Chris received his BBA in Accounting from the University of Texas at San Antonio and is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Texas Society of CPAs. He currently serves on the board of Eva’s Heroes, on the regional board of KIPP Texas, on the school advisory council of St. Matthew’s Catholic School, on the board and business influencers group of The Nonprofit Council, and is a board member of C12: Leon Springs CEO Advisory Board. Chris has chaired the finance council of his parish, St. Matthew Catholic Church. At St. Matthew, he has also chaired the Annual Archbishop’s Appeal and served as the Parish Chair of the Archdiocesan Capital Campaign.
When Chris is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children.
